An all-Italian brand since 1972
The brand name “Solfine” derives from a sulphur-based shampoo specifically formulated for oily scalp and hair, and bound to become one of the line’s best-sellers.
This historic brand in the Italian hair care industry was created in the early 1970s with the first line of professional shampoos and hair care products developed, manufactured and distributed by a cosmetics laboratory located in the province of Arezzo and named Cosmo Lab.
Despite its traditional origins and the manufacturing connotation naturally associated with Italian companies in those days, Cosmo Lab was already well established on overseas markets thanks to the production and distribution of professional hair colours that offered an excellent value for price and a purely Italian colour style, more covering and resistant than the French one; more natural, multifaceted and shinier than the German one.
In the two decades that followed, Solfine imposed itself as a leading made in Italy brand on the Canadian and Australian markets, completing its offering with new professional hair colour lines distributed through networks of specialised pharmacies and cosmetics stores, widely spread both in Canada and Australia.
In January 1998, the Cosmo Lab laboratory was renamed Cosmolab SRL. Ever since, the company has increasingly specialised in private label manufacturing and extended its R&D activities by cooperating with knowledgeable technicians and consultants for new product formulation and development.

Clean energy and protection of resources
Our manufacturing plant only uses clean energy from renewable sources, offsetting all CO2 emissions from methane gas through voluntary adhesion to the Kyoto protocol.
ISO-certified quality
The management systems of our manufacturing plant are ISO certified for process quality, environmental quality, good manufacturing practices for cosmetics and occupational health and safety.
